Bio-Char

The ash produced by gasifier, we call it “ Bio-char”. It has high carbon content, can be used as fertilizer or make into charcoal for heating.

Biochar can be used as fertilizer.

Biochar is the ash of biomass, it has almost all the mineral elements contained in biomass. Among them, the highest content is potassium, it is about 6~12% and of which more than 90% is water-soluble and exists in the form of carbonate. The second is phosphorus, which is about 1.5~3%. Also, the biochar contains calcium, magnesium, silicon, sulfur and micronutrients such as iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron and platinum.

Using ash/biochar as fertilizer, its efficiency is better than that of chemical potassium fertilizer when the amount of potassium was equal. Therefore, it is a kind of fertilizer with full nutrient production and obvious fertilizer effect.

Function of the ash/Biochar when using it as Fertilizer

Can enhance the absorption of heat, rise the temperature of ground and water, promote plant growth and reduce cold damage.

The porous nature of the mass porosity is good for air permeability, increasing the oxygen supply of the root.

Increase water retention of the sandy soil, reduce dry damage; soft clay soil and reduce moisture damage.

The main component is silicon dioxide, which is similar to the soil composition and can be regarded as a soil substitute.

Help the plants absorb water and make the leaves thicker and healthier

PH value is above 7, which is a good amendment for acidic soil.

Large absorption power, it has the effect of absorbing toxins, and reduces the loss and distribution of fertilizer

Can prevent invasion by species such as mollusks when spead the around plants.

Biochar can be made into charcoal briquettes.

Ash/Biochar produced from gasification has high content of carbon and good heat value. Making biochar into charcoal briquettes is economically viable.

Mixing the biochar with corn starch, then make charcoal briquettes with pressing machine. It is natural charcoal briquettes without any chemicals.
